I want to know my neighbors.

In today's fast-paced society, meeting our neighbors is no easy task. The opportunities to chat over the backyard fence or exchange cups of sugar are becoming fewer and further between. The good news is that we're here to provide a new way to bring you and your neighbors together. Read on to find out how a Project Common Ground website can turn your Subdivision into a Neighborhood.

I want to feel my home and family are safe.

Did you know that subdivisions in which neighbors are connected tend to be safer? It's true! Neighbors who are familiar with each other are more likely to notice and react to unusual people, cars and behavior on their streets. This means greater safety for your kids, your pets and your property! Getting connected just makes sense!

I want to know help is nearby when I need it.

No one likes to think about it, but bad things can and do happen. If your house catches fire or someone in your family needs medical attention, would help be available next door, or across town? Knowing your neighbors means that help in an emergency is right there when you need it.

I want to get involved.

Homeowners' Associations and Neighborhood Watches are the governing bodies whose decisions most directly affect subdivision residents. Yet residents often feel disconnected from these groups because they don't know how to get involved, nor what they can do to help. A Project Common Ground website can be a great way to invite and encourage involvement, to the benefit of all.

I want people to know I'm here.

Project Common Ground websites are a great way to advertise, whether you're a teenager looking to make some extra money babysitting or mowing lawns, or you're a business owner looking for exposure. Let your neighbors know what you can do for them by posting a free ad on your subdivision message board, or purchasing a monthly banner ad slot on any of our subdivision websites.

We're making progress!

As you can see, we've launched our new, improved website in all its glory, a celebration of the project's sixth month in progress.  It's been slow going in places, and we've learned a lot.  Happily, we've been priviledged enough to fall in with some wonderful people along the way, and we're looking forward to what the next six months brings.

We'd like to take this time to thank the residents of the subdivisions we've come to refer to affectionately as the W3 Consortium: Whitmoor, Windsor Spring and Wellington Farm.  Their willingness to participate in the program has given us the legs we need to move into the next phase, and we are proud and excited to be working with them.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates!  And enjoy the new site!
